How a Christian Life Group Works
We Provide a Proven Format
The mission of Christian Life is to provide group formats that attract young people, fully engage them and challenge them to actively grow in their Catholic faith. You use the resource kit along with an array of helpful online resources to begin and sustain a vibrant Christian Life group.
Choose a Series
Each CL program has a theme around which a series of studies are developed. You choose the series that best fits your needs. Our featured series is the Authenticity Series which focuses on what it means to be a person free from the trappings of bad habits and superficiality. Topics such as defamation of character and underage drinking are covered.
Target your Audience; Choose a Location and Begin Promotion
Groups typically form around the common-ground experiences of upper high school, college age, or young professionals. Groups can be coed or single gender. Find a place to meet that fits the demographics of your group. It can be in a house, a coffee shop, parish hall or wherever you choose. Identify your target audience and get the promotion out using the material provided for you in your Christian Life Kit.
Set your Schedule
Once you have your materials, plan out your schedule. The schedule is flexible to meet your group's needs. You can schedule out a few weeks, a semester or even year. Included in your Kit is a schedule that proposes a progression of topics and activities to follow.
Find your Team & Plan Your Sessions
Meetings are usually an hour or two. You may choose to have an adult mentor guide and support the meetings and the group. Once you identify a small team to help you run the group and act as prayer warriors for the group, review the components of a meeting. The CL packaged meeting components are designed to help you attract and fully engage your participants.
Make Prayer the Backbone of your Program
Your Christian Life group could be very successful at attracting young people and even engaging them with the gospel, but if true conversion of heart does not occur, then the program is really nothing more than a noisy bell. The team must serve as prayer warriors for the group participants asking that the Holy Spirits pierce the hearts of those who attend and foster deeper conversion and holiness. This is the goal of a CL group!
Review The Materials
Included in each program are a series of study guides, movie reviews, a social event and apostolic activities. As a CL group you will have access to online resources to support your group such as daily meditations and the CL Cultivator which enables you to create your own private CL database from where you organize your group data and send emails.
